Compliance and Standards Engineer

Nucleus Scientific seeks an experienced Compliance Engineer to assist our Engineering team in product development in the transportation field.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining the Automotive Standards that designs must satisfy.

  • Coordinate teams in regards to Compliance and Standards.

  • Identify regulatory compliance issues present in proposed designs.

  • Engage Nucleus legal counsel in developing strategy to address compliance issues.

  • Layout long term plans and goals for a “road-ready” vehicle.

  • Assist engineers in defining testing requirements and in performing tests to meet various Standards.

  • Assist in design process to move from proof-of-concept to production ready.

  • Engage government agencies if needed to develop an approach to address compliance issues.

  • Provide representation at various Automotive Standards’ committees and groups.

  • Operate with autonomy in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

 

Key Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive safety and design standards.

  • Defining design and documentation requirements pertaining to Compliance and Standards.

  • Ability to manage a variety of engineering personalities to achieve a common goal.

  • Interfacing with Compliance and Standards committees.

  • Strong technical background along with a desire to learn new technologies.

 

Requirements

  • BS or MS in relevant engineering field.

  • 3+ years experience in Compliance and Standards work in the automotive field

  • Experience in taking a design through Compliance and Standards’ testing.

 

Other

  • Experiences in law and public policy are helpful.
