Mechanical Engineer

Nucleus Scientific seeks a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical and electromechanical products for efficient transportation technologies and systems.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and inventing new concepts for transportation and efficiency products

  • Designing, assembling and supporting electro-mechanical parts and assemblies

  • Developing manufacturing processes through design and modification of equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

  • Assuring system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; helping to monitor fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

 

Key Skills

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation

  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or make product or process improvements

  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures and provide technical information

  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations

  • Writing performance requirements and specifications for equipment and maintaining design history documentation

  • Working with vendors on product specifications and mechanical component selection.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering minimum (Master’s preferred)

  • 5+ years related Mechanical Engineering experience.

  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM, SolidWorks and PDM

  • Solid knowledge of mechanical theories, design principles and practices and design evaluation techniques.  

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to properly communicate with peers and members of the management team.

  • Excellent prioritization and project development skills
